Dubuque Herald, July 3, 1872

On the night of the 27th the residence of Dr. Ady, of West Liberty, was entered by burglars and was robbed of $700 to $800. The thieves got in through a back door which had been left open, and passed to the sleeping apartment above. The doctor's coat and vest were missing, including &450 in notes and accounts, a case of surgical instruments and a valuable watch. The notes and accounts were afterwards found in a haystack.
