With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Trever Morgan Barclay,18, who left this world far too soon on March 1, 2025, at 7:30 PM in Onawa, Iowa. Born at 6:48 PM on March 26, 2006, in Onawa, the son of Jeff Barclay and Monica Morgan. Trever was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He grew up in Onawa and called it home his entire life.
A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Onawa Bible Baptist Church, 903 Diamond Street, Onawa, Iowa, 51040, with Pastor Matt Sperling, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Trever’s obituary. A luncheon/celebration of life will follow the service at the Onawa Dragway, 22940 248th Street, Onawa, Iowa, 51040. A private family graveside ceremony will be held at Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Trever graduated from West Monona High School and Heartland Therapeutic School in May 2024. He had big dreams of becoming a YouTuber, podcaster, and content creator. He loved gaming, making videos, and creating music, recently finding joy in sharing his creativity on TikTok. Trever was also an avid ukulele player and had a passion for watching cooking videos—especially if they featured his favorite food, guacamole.
Trever’s charismatic and social nature made him the kind of person who never met a stranger. He was outgoing, lovable, and always full of questions, bringing laughter and joy wherever he went. He made a lasting impact on everyone he met, leaving behind countless cherished memories. Trever was also a proud member of the Special Olympics Bowling Team and had a deep love for cats and Beyblades.
Trever is survived by his loving mother, Monica Morgan, and his brother, Kristofer Barclay. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Kristel and Lee Wheeler, and cousins, Westen and Nolan, aunt and uncle, Jill and Michael Morgan, his aunt and uncle, Jodi and Mark Boucher, his Uncle Jonny Nickols and grandparents, Lois and Dave Nickols.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter “Bubs” Barclay, his father, Jeff Barclay; grandfathers, Mick Morgan and Robert Fox; and grandmother, Birdie Fox.Trever gave the gift of life through organ and tissue donation with the Iowa Donor Network.
To honor his life, flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
Trever lived by the words, "Life is too short to worry." He embraced every moment with curiosity, joy, and a heart full of love. Trever never judged a book by its cover, always taking the time to truly understand people beyond first impressions.
