EVIDENCE IS INSUFFICIENT

Minnie Berkland, Arrested Near
Marshalltown for Theft
of $50 is Discharged

Marshalltown, Ia. – Jan. 4. – Minnie Burkland, the 20 year old girl arrested at the home of her parents, fifteen miles north of Emmetsburg, Saturday by Sheriff Hudson for the theft of $50 from a farmer named Lars Thompson of Le Grand, was given a hearing before W. M. Slark, justice of the peace, and discharged as no evidence could be produced.
