Page 1Mrs. Lucina J. Darby died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Allen, in Macomb, Ill., January 7, 1911, at 8 o'clock a. m., aged 77 years, 2 months and 27 days. Lucina J. Wyman was born in Peru, Bermont, October 11, 1833. She was married to Jerome Derby, February 18, 1850 and together they came to Brimfield, Peoria county, Illinois. In 1878 they moved to Iowa. In 1897 her husband died and since that time she has lived with her daughter at Macomb, Ill.
In her youth she united with the Congregational church. After going west she united with the Christian church in Bushnell and later transferred her membership to the Christian church at Macomb. She was always a faithful christian and a regular church attendant as long as health would permit. To this union were born four children, Mary L. Allen, of Macomb; Isabelle and Anna , deceased and O. J. Derby, of Wapello. Besides her two children she leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Mrs. L. C. Richardson, of Smith Center, Kans. and Mrs. James Pemble, of Wapello, Iowa and one brother Henry Wyman, of New London, Iowa, besides a host of relatives.
Short funeral services were held at the home in Macomb Sunday at 1:30 p. m. and the remains were brought to the home of her nephew, Frank Pemble, in this city, Sunday evening, Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Wapello Monday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by Mrs. Laua DeLany Garst, of Des Moines, assisted by Rev. J. E. Newsom, of Wapello. Interment in the Harrison cemetery.
