The 11 months old daughter of Dr. J. H. Chittum and wife died suddenly last Friday, after a few hours illness with some affection of the throat that mystified and baffled the physicians. Little Ruth was a beautiful, winsome child, the only daughter and her sudden transplanting leaves a vacant spot in the household garden that all the beauty of the springtime cannot fill with the baby prattle stilled. Those who knew her say she was a lovely child. The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Newsom of the M. E. church. Interment in the Wapello cemetery.
