John Snyder, who with his wife celebrated their golden wedding a few weeks ago, died Tuesday, Feb. 26. The funeral was held today. He was a strong temperance advocate; always ready to do a kind act. He claimed the marked distinction of being the first one to raise smoke in his own house, also built by his own hands, in Conesville or Orono, as that place was then called. He leaves his aged wife, one son, seven daughters and hosts of friends to mourn his life.
