Page 1Mrs. William Delzell, of Morning Sun, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 23, 1907, with funeral services on the 25th, and interment at Rice's cemetery. The deceased's maiden name was Caroline F. Curran. She was born in Louisa county on Jan. 8, 1840 and thus was a pioneer of this county. At thirteen years of age she united with the Methodist church and continued a faithful attendant until her death. In 1859 she was married to William Delzell, a member of another well known pioneer family, and with him in faithful companionship, she shared the joys and sorrow of life for nearly a half a century.
Nine children blessed their home, but during a siege of typhoid fever, which attacked every member of the family, two of the children died. Seven children grew to maturity, married and are living in their own homes. Her many years were usually blessed with good health and her disposition was such that she looked on the bright side of life here and hereafter. Mrs. Frank Bean, of this city, is one of the surviving daughters.
