Arthur C. Savage
Commissioner of Insurance of Iowa, born at Prairieburg, Linn county, Iowa, January 2, 1870. Was educated in the public schools of Dexter and Stuart, Iowa, and Grinnell college. For twenty-two years was engaged in the banking business at Adair, Iowa, and for a number of years conducted a large fire insurance agency. Mr. Savage is a republican in politics, and served as a member of the Iowa senate in the thirty-third, thirty-fourth, thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth general assemblies, and as chairman of the public school and appropriation committees. Was appointed commissioner of insurance by Governor W.L.
