I am writing to find out any information about the Mersch, Gengler or Sieran families who I believe lived in Keokuk, IA around 1870.

I wondered when did they arrive in the area?
Why did they (or other Germans) come to this area of Iowa?
Were they naturalized citizens in Iowa?
When did they move out of this area and where did they move to? maybe Kansas?
