Mary E. McElroy died at her home in Martinsburg November 8, 1915. She was born in Ohio in 1838, and came to Iowa with her parents in 1869. She united with the Presbyterian church in early life and was a consistent member until the Master's call. Mrs. McElroy was preceded in death by her husband, William McElroy, and one son, Jesse, and is survived by three sisters and one brother. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, who have so tenderly cared for her during her last days on earth, and also by her many friends and neighbors. She was a good neighbor and a true friend,and passed away trusting in Jesus. "So He giveth His beloved sleep."

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Martinsburg Presbyterian church, conduced by Rev. J. C. B. Peck, assisted by Rev. Filmer, of the M. E. church. Interment was in the Martinsburg cemetery.
