Private funeral services for Margaret Bendixen, 81, Oxford Junction, were held June 29, 1988 at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming, with the Rev. Gregory Hannemann officiating. Pallbearers were Thomas Bendixen, Douglas Rickels, James Miner, Rick Bendixen, David Fall, Trent Bendixen, Eric Klatt, Russell Heinsius, Scott Stickley and Werner Bendixen III. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.
Mr. Bendixen died June 26 at the Anamosa Community Hospital.
She was born May 27, 1907 in Keil, Germany and came to the United States when she was 16, working as a hired girl before marrying Werner Bendixen April 25, 1929 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran church. They made their home in Jones county, farming in the Wyoming and Oxford Junction areas.
Mrs. Bendixen is survived by her husband and 10 children, Mrs. Wrenden (Helen) Fall, Olin; Hans, Holiday Island, Ark.; Anna Marie Entsminger, Mrs. Virgil (Sylvia) Rickels, Mrs. Eldon (Margaret) Stickley and Richard, all of Anamosa; Werner Jr., Dubuque; Mrs. James (Evelyn) Heinsius, Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Steve (Chrystal) Klatt and Chris, both of Olin; 34 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 half-sisters, 2 half-brothers and 2 grandsons.
