Harry Covell Scoops up Four Pound Black Bass-1900

Last Monday little Harry Covell and some other boys were swimming in the Buffalo. A sudden lunge by Harry startled a black bass so much that it leaped over the boy and landed just in the edge of the water, Harry scooping him up on the bank. The fish weighed just four pounds and was twenty inches in length by measure. Fifty cents was invested in the beauty and Charley Green is still bragging over its delicious flavor.
