The Anamosa Journal, Iowa, Thursday, October 21st, 1920
Elmer Lynch, an employee of McNeill Bros. a few miles south of Hopkinton, lost his life in an instant when No. 22 passenger train on the C. M. & St. Paul struck the wagon in which he was riding. The train was at once stopped. Those who reached the body found that life was extinct, and it was taken on board and brought to Hopkinton. The south bound passenger a short time later conveyed the body to Monticello, the home of the young man.
