Funeral services for Bridget H. "Betty" Sheedy, 86, Iowa City, were held Sept. 17, 1988 at St. Mary's Catholic church, with burial in St. Bridget's cemetery in Morse.

Miss Sheedy died Sept. 15 at the Iowa City Care Center after a short illness.

The daughter of Daniel and Ellen Galvin Sheedy, she was born Nov. 24, 1901 in Cedar county. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1925 and graduated from the Hemeopathic Hospital College of Nursing in 1944. She was a nurse at University Hospital in the gynecology and ophthalmology departments, retiring in 1970.

Miss Sheedy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Action Group.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Sheedy, Iowa City and several cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister.
