Predeceased by her father, John M. Daine, Jr, Brother John (Matt) Daine, III, Uncles Jim Tucker and Bill Daine, Aunts Jackie Burns, Mary (Allen) Sharp, Diane Cooper, and Cousins John Orth, Daine Sharp, Teresa Berridge Turner, Bobbie Berridge Gicinto, and Brad Berridge.
Deborah was born on July 12, 1956, in Iowa City, Iowa. The stars aligned to make her an exuberant, beautiful, elegant and classy woman whom everyone turned to look at when she walked into a room! She attended Longfellow Elementary, Southeast Junior High and Iowa City High School where she graduated from in 1974. She was a dancer and choreographer at Mary Lea Leitch School of Dance during those times.
Her wonderful fashion sense, artistic gift, and eye for detail led her to a career in fashion and interior design, where she worked with many affluent clients throughout the United States, especially in Los Angeles, Miami and Aspen. Her designs were featured in many interior design magazines, websites and publications. Deborah’s benevolence led her to become a board member and work for many years with the nonprofit mentor organization “The Buddy Program” in Aspen, Colorado. While there she developed many exciting and engaging art programs that helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for their youth mentoring programs.
Deborah was the art rep for her husband Marc Bennett’s artwork which sold in interior design showrooms, art galleries and directly to many interior designers around the world. Deborah collaborated with Marc on many art projects, art shows and charity projects in Los Angeles and Aspen. She was also an artistic muse, sounding board and inspiration for her husband’s other career as a film and television producer and director.
Her laughter, charm, and beautiful spirit will be missed by so many, including her precious dachshund, Raye! She has been a bright light in all of our lives and even though her physical self has left us, her brilliant spirit will be a part of us….. forever.
We would like to share the below note that Deborah wrote in her journal shortly before she passed:
“I have attracted many wonderful friends along this journey called “LIFE” and feel so fortunate to call these friends “FAMILY.” We never really know when this earthly journey may end... but I am quite certain that we continue to reincarnate to a higher and more divine level of “BEING.” I also feel that we travel as a “SOUL FAMILY” and I am looking forward to traveling with you all again one day."
