Shanette M. (TT) Grisby was born October 31, 1975, in Waterloo, IA, to Roosevelt and Rebecca Grisby of Waterloo. Shanette passed unexpectedly, October 11, 2024.
Shanette was a very kind warm-hearted person. Shanette loved her entire family dearly. Shanette was a CNA for 18 years at Care Initiative of Waterloo. She also had a daycare service at home for 10 years after she left Tyson for 3 years. Shanette also went to Culinary school after graduating. She attended the Cordon Blue in Illinois. She loved cooking and fishing and she really loved baking treats with her God Child, great nieces and nephews. Shanette loved Romairie (her Bear Bear) her heart beats unconditionally. He’s the reason she held on so long.
She is survived by: only child, LinMoney Grisby; her sister, Kenita (Joe); brother, Roosevelt (Maryah), her four nieces, ShaNiyah (Kevin), Shakenyah (Edward), LayMoney and LaNiyah, her nephews Amado, Roosevelt Jr. and Romaire; and 2 great-nieces, KyiLeiOnna and Gabriella; 3 great-nephews, Jordan Jr., Jeremiah, and her ReShondis (Butt Butt); 4 aunts, Rosie Coleman, Betty Jackson, Patty Campbell, and Clara Wright; 3 uncles, Alston Campbell, Brooker T. and Pastor Tony Campbell (Debra); 2 honorary sons, Deterius and Tyrone; an honorary nephew, Jordan Sr., and a host of family and friends.
Shanette was preceded in death by her parents, both maternal and paternal grandparents, a sister, brother, 6 uncles, 3 aunts, and 4 grandchildren in their infancy.
Shanette was a lot of things – loving, caring and a respectful person. Shanette also took care of her father for a long time until he passed over. She was always trying to make sure her family was good. Shanette loved everyone she was around. She loved gospel music every day, not just Sunday. She was a force to be reckoning with.
