4-H Genealogy Projects Win Prizes at Fair

Trudy Burns and Joan Dinnel had a big job evaluating eight 4-H genealogy exhibits at the Johnson County Fair in order to choose the winners of Iowa City Genealogical Society's three awards. Each award-winner received a check for $50.

The junior winner, Brandon Barker, did a report on his grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary.
The intermediate winner, Audra Schultz, created a notebook with pedigree charts and family stories and a gravestone picture using ancestry.com and findagrave.com
The senior winner, Greta Schmidt, had a notebook and tri-fold showing four generations of wedding dresses in her family. She had original wedding pictures as well as pictures of herself wearing all four dresses.
