Wulf Services Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Letitia Wulf who died Thursday morning at the Skiff Memorial hospital, were held yesterday afternoon at the Christian church with Reverend Paul Becker in charge. Burial was made in the Newton cemetery.
Music was given by several of Mrs. Wulf’s friends and members of the church which she attended.
The pallbearers were Glen Hesson, Will Hesson, Charley Iske, Lauren Iske, John Buchanan and Glen Harris.
Obituary
Letitia Linder Wulf was born Oct. 18, 1860, in Jasper county, the daughter of Rufus Linder and Elizabeth Bridges Linder, natives of Kentucky. She had lived the greater share of her life in Jasper county in Newton and vicinity and for the last two years had made her home with her son, Elmer Wulf, of this city. At the time of her death she was 67 years old.
Mrs. Wulf had been in failing health for the last five years but her condition became serious Friday and she was taken to the Skiff Memorial hospital where she died following an operation early Wednesday morning.
She is survived by two sons, John L Wulf, of Des Moines, and Elmer R. Wulf of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Carolina Benskin of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Pearl Slater of Grundy Center, Ia. One daughter, Mrs. Bertha Goodwill, preceded the mother in death in 1908 and three daughters, Inna, Mae and Alice, died in infancy.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Griebel of this city.
She was married in 1876, in Jasper county to John Wulf, who preceded her in death April 8, 1895.
She had been a member of the Christian church since early girlhood and was active and a regular attendant at all of the services. Throughout her illness she never complained and her family was unaware until a few days before her death that her health was in a serious condition. Mrs. Wulf had been a widow for the last 32 years and during this time her family had meant everything to her. She was always doing for her children and was happiest when she had done something to surprise or please them.
Mrs. Wulf had made her home with her son, Elmer Wulf of this city, and two daughter, Mrs. Will Benskin of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs Eber Slater of Grundy Center. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Chris Griebel, of Newton. Mrs. Wulf had been a widow for the last 32 years.
