Phillip L. Seeley, 78, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his residence in Cherokee, Iowa.

It was Phillip’s wish to be cremated and there will be no services. Burial will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Philip was born on October 31, 1946 in Galva, Iowa to Ernest and Virginia (Hobbs) Seeley. He was raised in Galva and attended Galva Community School and graduated in 1964. After graduation Phillip worked at Continental Deli and later for Wilson Foods.

On February 27, 1966, he married Susan Richardson in Galva, Iowa. In 1966, he entered the United States Army, serving until 1968. Phillip owned and operated Seeley Rendering Service in Cherokee for 30 years. In 2004, he started driving for Hy-Vee Distribution Center until his retirement in 2011.

In his spare time, Phillip loved to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes and going camping with his granddaughters.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Seeley; sisters Betty Haselhoff, Lois Syndergaard, Sherry Mills, and Sally in 1950.

Phillip is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Laura Overman; granddaughters Hailie and Brianna Trobaugh and Shayanne Riebe; Aunt Lucille Zupp; also many nieces and nephews.
