Henry Ries, 86, passed away Sunday, November 24, at a rest home at Owatonna, Minnesota. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran Church at Laurens.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Ries and they lived east and south of Bode. At one time he worked in the bank at Ottosen, and when he lived at Rodman he managed the lumber yard there.

Surviving are one daughter, Isabel, Mrs. John Dietrich of West Concord, Minnesota; four grandchildren; a brother, John, of Fayette; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Welter of Tucson, Arizona, Miss Katherine Ries of Des Moines, Mrs. Barbara Donald of Hemet, California, and Mrs. C.N. (Mary) Welter of Sisson's Rest Home in Humboldt.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Welter and Miss Katherine Ries attended from here. Miss Ries came from Des Moines Tuesday and stayed at the Charles Welter home until Friday.
