Mrs. Max Thuerk and little son went to LeRoy Monday where they were called on account of the death of her brother-in-law Chas. Goettell.

Chas. Goetel, who for some time was a Cresco resident engaged in the butchering business, dropped dead on Sunday morning while at work about his house in LeRoy. His funeral was held Tuesday. He was aged about 52 years. He was a brother-in-law of Max Thuerk, who with his family attended the funeral.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows the name spelled several ways. His gravestone in Le Roy Cemetery shows the spelling as Goettel. He was born in 1867.
