She was married to Benjamin Fobes Oct. 24, 1853, in Oakfield, Genesse county, N. Y., who preceded her March 9, 1907. Nine children were born to this union—Orpha Gates, Hetty Eliza, Cora, Mary, Frank, Emma, Susan, Mable and Benjamin, four now having passed to the great beyond.
Funeral services were held in Cresco, her old home Thursday afternoon where she had lived since 1856, and where all her children were born but one. She was truely{sic} a pioneer and loved by all wherever she lived. A good kind neighbor and a loving, thoughtful mother, so unselfish.
Funeral services were held at the B. P. Norton home Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. A. Bockoven and burial was in Oaklawn.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows her maiden name spelled Mahannah.
