Early June Wedding.
On Sunday June 1, 1919, the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Sanborn was the scene of a most interesting event when their only daughter, Miss Merle Lucile, was united in marriage with Herbert M. Kerr, second son of Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Kerr, of Lime Springs. At 3:30 in the afternoon to the strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march played by Mrs. R. W. Thomas, the bridal couple appeared in the presence of only a few of their immediate relatives and the ceremony which made them husband and wife was performed by their pastor, Rev. G. M. Shoemaker.
The bride attired in a dainty wedding gown of white organdie, was indeed very sweet and beautiful and the groom in his natty nautical uniform was scarcely less charming than his beautiful bride.
Both bride and groom are well known, highly esteemed and much beloved by a large circle of friends in Lime Springs where they were born, have been educated and which has been their home since birth and where we trust they may in the near future make their permanent home.
The happy couple autoed to Cresco where they left on the evening train for Chicago where Mr. Kerr is still in the service of his country as corpsman of the Medical Corps of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station.
Their many friends join in extending to Mr. and Mrs. Kerr hearty congratulations for a long, prosperous and happy married life.
