Ronald N. Stessman, 74, passed way Aug. 10, 2017
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 14 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Omaha. The Celebrant, Rev. Michael B. Voithofer, was assisted by Deacons Gail Stessman and Marvin Klein. Musicians were Mary Michael, singer, and Mary Stessman, pianist. Graveside Service was held at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Earling, with military honors by Earling American Legion Post 615. Pallbearers were Tom Stessman, Bill Stessman, Gene Langenfeld, Teresa O’Grady, Bill Klein, Marty Stessman, David Stessman, Greg Reisz, Laura Romero and Jen Mendolia.
Ronald was born in Earling on June 29, 1943 and grew up on a farm in rural Iowa. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters and his large extended family. He enjoyed playing cards, dancing, music, and joining his many friends for breakfast at Ralston Keno. He will be remembered as a happy-go-lucky guy with a friendly smile. He was a car salesman for many years at various dealerships, including Edwards Hyundai in Council Bluffs, and Stan Olsen Hyundai in Omaha, Neb. At the time of his death he was employed at Todd Archer Hyundai in Bellevue, Neb. Ronald was a member of Earling, American Legion Post 615, and Earling, Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Isabel Stessman; five brothers: Marcus, Raymond, Joseph “Jack,” Monsignor Gerald, and Vern; sisters-in-law, Donna Stessman and Janice Langenfeld; brother-in-law, Eldred Reisz.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristine Schrad (Steve) of Albion, Neb.; granddaughters, Natalie and Joslyn; siblings and spouses: Rita and Don Wall of Omaha, Neb., Dolores and Marvin Klein, Donald and Joanne Stessman, all of Dunlap, Leo and Mary Stessman of Omaha, Neb., Helen Reisz of Woodbine, Gail and Maureen Stessman of Dunlap; sisters-in-law: Peggy Stessman, Kathy Stessman, and Coni Stessman; special friend, Bonnie Robertson; many nieces and nephews.
