Services for Blanche T. Witte, 68, Britt, who died Saturday, March 24, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, were held Wednesday, March 28, 10:30 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Dale Rausch and Monsignor Chihak serving as co-celebrants. Roger Kopacek served as lector.

Music was provided by organist, Mary Kopacek, and St. Wenceslaus Church choir. Ushers were Jim Arndorfer and Tom Zrostlik.

Casket bearers were Gary Schleusner, Jerry Weiskamp, Dan Doughan, Ron Kumsher, Jeff Ptacek and David Kral.

Burial was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Theresa Witte, the daughter of Adolph and Mary Nedved Ptacek, was born March 14, 1922 near Duncan. She attended the country school in Hancock County.

February 25, 1946, she married Robert Witte. The couple made their home on a farm near Britt. They moved to a farm in Dexter, MN, later returning to a farm near Duncan. Blanche was employed for 14 years in the dietary department at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. She continued to work there on a part-time basis.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, the Rosary Guild, the Catholic Workmen, the VFW Auxiliary and the Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Witte of Britt; five daughters and four sons, Jean Young and her husband, Donald of Garner, Donna Weckwerth and her husband, Dennis of Wells, MN, Daryl Witte and his wife, Mary of Joice, Jane Ann Risius and her husband, Todd of Garner, Steve Witte and his wife, Donna of Wesley, Dorene Larsen and her husband, Nick of Fairmont, MN, Dennis Witte and his wife, Anita of Webster City, Nancy Wilson and her husband, David of Britt, and Jim Witte of Zanesville, OH; 25 grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Kral and her husband, Jim of Taylor, WI, Agnes Kumsher and her husband, Michael of Britt, Sally Weiskamp of Britt, Margaret Schleusner and her husband, L.E. Bud of Garner, and Frances Doughan and her husband, Allan of Britt; Two brothers, Tony Ptacek and his wife, Ileene of Britt, and Clarence Ptacek and his wife, Verneil of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law.
