Tenus Larson Is Dead.

After being over 19 years a cripple and for the past 2 years and 5 months confined constantly to his bed, Tenus Larson passed quietly and peacefully away at 11:25 o'clock Tuesday night, March 18th, at his home in Jewell. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the Congregational church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Gifford, and the body was laid at rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Tenus Larson, son of Andrew Larson, was born May 5th, 1886, on the farm five miles northwest of Jewell, and lived there and in Jewell all his life. He died at the age of 26 years, 10 months and 13 days. In 1908 he was graduated from the Jewell public schools. 19 years ago last fall he became crippled as a result of blood poisoning, one of the knees being effected. A tubercular condition of the bone resulted, tuberculosis-peritonitis being given as the cause of death.

Unable throughout all the days of his boyhood and young manhood to participate in the enjoyments and the activities of his fellows, his life, nevertheless, was not lived in vain. His was a never-ending object lesson of Christian patience and content. In December, 1905, he united with the Christian church, being baptized Dec. 16th of that year, and to his faith he remained true and loyal to the day of his death. Until he became bedfast he was always a faithful attendant and earnest worker in church and Sunday School, and during the nearly two and a half years of his suffering in bed he was always hopeful and patient. He was conscious that the end was coming and welcomed the relief from pain. Consciousness did not leave him until within a half hour of the end and he bade his father and brothers and sisters a touching farewell, expressing the hope that he might meet them all in Heaven.
