Daniel Milloy

Born in Scotland and married there to Grace Sinclair, Daniel Milloy first settled in Canada in 1863. His four children - Archie B., Alexander, Duncan and Katie (later Mrs. C. J. Elliot) were born there before the family moved to Nora Springs (in the early 1870s) where Mr. Milloy worked for the Milwaukee, St. Paul and Minnesota Railroad. In 1881 he moved to a farm west of Rockford, still with the railroad as a foreman for the B.C.R. and N.

His eldest, Archie B. (1865-1937) married Sarah Carrott in 1887. The farm remained in the family (A. Milloy had one daughter, Grace, and two sons, William and Daniel), when Archie moved to Rockford in 1908. Until his death he sold horses and was county supervisor. The present (Cal) Milloy farm is one of the older homesteads in Rockford township.
