Father Norris was born in County Meath, Ireland. He read a distinguished course in All Hallows College, Dublin, Ireland, and was ordained to the priesthood Jund{sic} 24th, 1895. After spending some time as assistant in St. Raphael’s Cathedral in Dubuque he was appointed to the parish at Calmar, where he built a church and school and organized the parish. He was then appointed to Lourdes where a beautiful parochial school stands as a monument to his great zeal.
From Lourdes Father Norris went to Eagle Center, in which charge he served faithfully until his death.
Surviving him are his mother, three brothers in the priesthood, Rev. T. J. Norris at Grundy Center, Rev. James Norris, secretary to the Archbishop at Liverpool, England, and Rev. Peter Norris, St. Mary’s church, Drogheda, Ireland, and Sister Mary Patricia, Sister of Charity at Rome, Italy, and four sisters and three brothers in Ireland.
The officers of the mass were the Rev. T. J. Norris celebrant; Rev. M. J. Hogan, deacon; Rev. P. J. Behan, sub-deacon, and Father Theobold acted as master of ceremonies.
Over fifty priests were present at the funeral. Will Rinn and Tom Noonan of Lourdes were two of the pall bearers.—Elma New Era.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1872 and died May 23, 1919 which does not agree with the above. He is buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Key West, Dubuque County, IA.
