Henry V. and Anthony F. Klinkner were two of eleven children born to John H. and Margaret Knippling Klinkner in Cascade. Henry was the manager of the “Farley News” and Anthony the editor. Henry was born in 1878. He married Winifred Monte in 1904. They had a son, Henry. Henry Klinkner, Sr. was associated with the newspaper in Farley, Dyersville and later the Dubuque Telegraph Herald and the Bellevue Herald. From 1925-1933, he was branch manager of the Nash Clothing Company in Des Moines. Mrs. Winnifred Klinkner died in November 1944. Henry died May, 1946 at the age of 67.
Anthony F. (Anton) Klinkner was born in July 1880. He and Margaret Wallace of Farley were married on June 27, 1905. They had a son John E. and a daughter Helen M. Mr. Anthony Klinkner was a known poet. He was a newspaperman with the Dubuque Times Journal; the Waukon Iowa Publican; the Cascade Pioneer; and the Dubuque Catholic Tribune. Mrs. Margaret Klinkner passed away in 1939 at age 57. Anthony died in May 1952 at St. Francis Home in Dubuque, the city in which he’d resided in later years. Burial in Mt. Calvary.
