W.W. Snow, who for 40 years has been a resident of Spirit Lake, passed away suddenly at his home on Court Street Saturday evening at 11:30 P.M. Mr. Snow had had heart trouble for a number of years, but it had not been of a serious nature until recently. Saturday preceding his death he suffered an attack while driving his car and an accident resulted. However, he had been back at work again following the shock, and on Saturday had been able to be at his garage working up until the close of the day, when as usual he ate supper and enjoyed the evening with his family. Shortly after retiring he fell asleep and quietly passed away.

Mr. Snow came to Spirit Lake when a boy of 19 years. He has been in the auto business here since the first auto came to Spirit Lake, and for several years before then ran a machine shop and bicycle store combined. He has lived in the same house on Court Street for the past 25 years, since his marriage to Miss Lydia Tritle, September 7, 1907.

During his residence he has made a large number of friends through his business and social contacts, all who have come to know him and value his friendship because of his personal worth.

William Wesley Snow, Son of Madison and Margaret Snow, was born at Athens, Ohio, March 5, 1874, and passed away October 22, 1932, at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 17 days. He was converted in 1888 at the age of 14 and joined the First Baptist Church at Parkersburg, W. Va., where he grew to manhood. Later he completed his course in Mechanical Engineering at the Ohio University at Athens, Ohio. He came with his parents to Spirit Lake at the age of 19 years and has resided here up to the present time.

He was married to Lydia R. Tritle in 1907, and to this union, one son, Jean Edwin, was born. Beside his wife and son, there are left to mourn his loss, his sister, Mrs. E.E. Chappell, of Clear Lake; his aunt, Mrs. C.A. Yarnes, and son Charles Yarnes, and daughters, Mrs. Bessie Norton of Spirit Lake, and Mrs. Grace Pease of Clear Lake; his niece, Mrs. Leda Sams of Athens, Ohio; and two nephews, Burt Terwilliger of Florida, and Frank Terwilliger, Jr., of Des Moines.

Funeral Services were conducted at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 P.M. by Rev. W.G. Muhleman, assisted by Rev. W.H. Lease. Mr. Snow being a member of the Twilight Lodge, A.F. & A.M., and Sioux City Consistory, the Masons attended the funeral in a body. Interment was made at Lakeview Cemetery.

Friends and relatives from out of town in attendance at the services were Mrs. C.E. Benson, Miss Ruth Benson and Mrs. Daisy McFarland, of Harris; H. Wilmarth and Mrs. Frank Boyd and daughter, Rose and husband of Ocheyedan; Mr. and Mrs. John Browers of Sheldon; Mrs. John Winn and Miss Cora Winn of Terril; Mrs. E.E. Chappell, son Edward, and Mrs. Grace Pease, of Clear Lake; Frank Terwilliger of Forest City and Frank, Jr., of Des Moines.
