I Susannah Downing being sound in mind but old and feeble in health, do make this as my last will and testament to wit. First; I will and bequeath to my son Ellis Downing one half of all my real estate, to wit. The NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 32 in Township 70 North of Range 12 West lying in Davis County, in State of Iowa, and containing 40 acres of land. And he is to have and possess all of said 40 acres of land after my death. Second, I will and bequeath to my son Moses Downing, the other half of all my real estate, to wit. The SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of said section 32 in Township 70, north of range 12 west, containg 40 acre of land. Third, I will and bequeath to my grandson John H Downing, a feather bed and bed clothes enough for one bed. Fourth, I will and request that the expenses of my last sickness and funeral shall be paid out of the proceeds of the remainder of my personal property; and that if there should remain any property after the foregoing provisions are fulfilled, I will that remainder shall be equally divided between my 2 sons, Ellis Downing and Moses Downing. fifth; If either of said should die before I do, I will that his share as above set forth shall go to and be received by his heirs. If there is any mistake in the above description of my land, I want it corrected by giving each of my said sons 40 acres of my land, and that my son Ellis shall receive the North 40 acres.
