Norman Lavern Johnson, 80, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013,, at the Carlisle Care Center.

Norman was born June 27, 1933, in Norwalk, Iowa, to William and Pluma Johnson. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Air Guard. Norman retired in 1999 from Lockheed Martin, where he was a tool and die maker for 30 years.

Norman is survived by his sons, Steven Johnson of California and Scott Johnson of Nevada; brothers, John (Shirley) Johnson of Carlisle and Daniel (Mary) Johnson of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Norman will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
