I wrote this submission for inclusion in the several web-sites I am a member of as a retired United States Navy Veteran.

I was born on February 19, 1940 on a farm near Clayton, Iowa, the first child of Ferdinand Otto Thiese and Gertrude L. Thiese.

As of this submission date: March 9, 2005 I am still alive. I post this to give an overview of my Navy Career and also the fact that I consider myself as a proud citizen of Iowa until I joined the United States Navy in August 1961.
