A Funeral service for Hazel Walton, 80 of Everly, is scheduled for today, September 14, 2001, at the United Methodist Church in Everly. The Rev. Rose Marie Calderon Khan will lead the 10:30 a.m. service.
Mrs. Walton died at her home on September 11, 2001
Casket bearers will be Bill Zesiger. Steve Fear, Russ Hughes, Walt Lammers, Fred Morfitt and Don Nielsen
Honorary Casket bearers will be Cynthia Shermbeck, Tim O'Hara, Chirs Berends, Jeff Berends, James Walton, Angela Johnson, Richard Berends and Jon Berends
Interment will be at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Irene Walton, the daughter of Hames and Maude (Taylor) Morris, was born March 6, 1921, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Her childhood years were spent in Arkansas where she received her early education in rural schools near Colfax.
She Married Jim Walton on September 30, 1937, in Cotter, Arkansas. They spent the early years of their marriage in Arkansas, before moving to Everly in 1954. She worked for a few years at the public library in Everly and had been active at the Senior Citizens Center
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Everly
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Walton is survived by three children; James and his wife, Sheryl of Sumter, South Carolina, Carolyn and her husband, Bob of Spencer and Elizabeth Berends and her husband Steve of Everly; eight grandchildren; three sisters; Jennie Haugh, Lucille Smith and Roberta Dickey; one brother, Jerry Morris; other relatives and friends.
