Services for Roger Ray Taylor, 44, Spencer and formerly of Dickens were 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 199, at the Warner Chapel, Spencer. Rev. Clark Christian officiated
Honorary Pallbearers were Tom Streed, Colt Berger, Larry Rupert, Dan Overmire, Tim Schruck and Tom Kissner
Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, May 29 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital, Spencer
He was born October 27, 1947, in Spencer to Roy E. and Lola B. (Essick) Taylor. His childhood years were spent in the Dickens and Ruthven areas and he graduated from Ruthven High School in 1965
He married M. Kathy Williams, March 9, 1969 in Dickens. They farmed on his grandfather's farm
He was a member of the Dickens United Methodist Church
He enjoyed sprint car racing and frequently raced in Jackson, Minnesota and Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, Spencer; parents, Roy and Lola, Spencer; his father and mother in law, Clyde and Carol Williams, Spencer; one brother in law and his wife, Elmer and Joy Williams, Spencer; two nephews, Allen and C. Jeff Williams; other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by a son, Jarrod and his grandparents
Burial was in the Dickens Cemetery, Dickens
Warner Funeral Home, Spencer was in charge of arrangements
