death between 1870-1880

In 1870 this family is in Nashua Village, Chickasaw Co. I think it is likely that Joel and Elizabeth died there, but I can't find a cemetery record for them and I'm betting they died before 1880. Can anyone offer advice on how I might find evidence of a pre-1880 death in Chickasawa Co. In particular, I'm wondering if there was a local newspaper publishing at that time.
