I dug out my records on this cemetery, and found that I actually did have a location description, so, loaded with that, I went back to the USGS GNIS server and typed in Cemetery and Chickasaw County, Iowa. It came up with 43 cemeteries, 8 of which, they say are "in" Lawler. I looked at all of them, and finally found what I needed, but here for the benefit of other researchers are the 8, names on USGS GNIS, and appoximate location:
1.)Stapleton Cemetery, appears to be about 5 miles south and just a little east of Lawler.
2.)North Cemetery, identified as having a varient name of Lawler, one mile north of town of Lawler.
3.)St. John's German Lutheran, on the south eastern end of town.
4.)Our Lady of Mount Carmel, varient name is Lawler Catholic, on the southern end of town.
5.)Lutheran Cemetery, South east of town, maybe 3 or 4 miles?
6.) Jacksonville Cemetery, north west of town, maybe about 4 miles.
7.)Boyd Cemetery, varient name was St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, south of town, about 6 miles (I think it was south west)
8.) Union Cemetery, south and a little west of town, maybe 4 or 5 miles.
Hope this helps someone.
Carol
P.S. They do not show Crane Creek under that name, nor do they show St. Ignatius under that name. They do show Little Turkey, but they list is as in Protivin.
