Mrs. Abigail Meyer Quinn Dies at the Age of 93 Years

Sioux Falls Argus-Leader: Mrs. Abigail Meyer Quinn, for 35 years a resident of Sioux Falls, passed away Sunday, January 16, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Michael, Ridgewood, N. J.

Mrs. Quinn was born September 10, 1827, at Bennington, VT. At the time of her death, she was 93 years and 4 months old. She came to Sioux Falls with her husband in 1881 and was a resident here until six years ago, when she went east to live with her daughter.

She is survived by one daughter, six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her body rests in a receiving vault at Patterson, N.J. and will be brought to Sioux Falls next spring for burial beside the remains of her husband in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Mrs. Quinn’s granddaughter, Mrs. Nellie Bender, 2106 South Center Avenue, is the only relative residing in this city.

Note: In the early days the Quinns lived on a farm west of Cherokee, near what has always been known as the Quinn school house. Dr. C. F. Quinn of Cherokee was an adopted son of Mr. Quinn’s. Mrs. L.
