ROY TAYLOR DIES AT HOME FRIDAY
Services Held Sunday; Had Been Ill For Some Time.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church, for Roy Taylor, 64, who passed away at his home south of here about 9:20 Friday morning. Rev. Arthur V. Long, pastor of the church, officiated.
Mr. Taylor was well known in this community and had been in ill health for several months suffering from heart trouble. Music for the services was furnished by Eric Osen, Frank Osen, A. B. Stone and Rev. Long. They sang, "Beautiful Isle," Going Down the Valley" and "Beautiful Land," and were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Eric Osen.
Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery with Van Harris, Glen Tay- lor, Mervin Taylor, Gene Taylor, Glen Soper and Faye Harris of Orient acting as pallbearers.
Thomas LeRoy Taylor, son of I.N. and Sally Taylor, was born Oct. 7, 1878 in Adair county and was raised there. June 3, 1898 he was united in marriage to Ollie Dorsey. To this union there was seven children born, one son, Calvin, preceding him in death.
Those left to mourn his death besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Earl Lantz and Mrs. Merrill Knowlton; four sons, Cecil, Jesse, Devene and Leland; his step-mother, Mrs. Edith Boos; two sisters, Mrs. Chas. Dorsey of Stuart and Mrs. Faye Harris of Orient; two brothers, Glen of Anita and Gene of Orient; one half brother, Mervin; two half sisters, Mrs. Glen Soper and Mrs. Russel Denham of Idaho; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
