Peggy J. Larson, 66, of Independence, IA, died on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at her home in Independence, IA.
Peggy was born on August 22, 1958, in Storm Lake, IA, the daughter of William and Mary (Pranger) Lane. She grew up in rural Denison, IA. In 1968, Peggy graduated from Denison High School and moved to Colorado. There she lived with her sister and worked as a waitress for several years. In 1976, she married Paul Holman and they had a son together, Christopher. They were later divorced.
In 1984, Peggy moved back to Iowa and worked as a waitress at Cronks Restaurant in Denison, IA, and King’s Corner in Oelwein, IA. She finally made her home in Independence, IA, in early 2000s.
Peggy married Larry Larson Jr. on June 27, 2005, in Elkader, IA. They were later divorced
Peggy loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going out to eat with them. She also liked spending time outside fishing or inside working on a puzzle.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Conner, Emeilia, and Clayton Holman, her sisters; Mary McCall, Independence, IA, Theresa (Kevin) Lopshire, Blue Grass, MO, and Nancy Craft, Omaha, NE.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Lane, a son, Christopher Lee Holman, and two brothers-in-law, Roger McCall and Paul Craft.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home and Crematory in Independence, IA.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo, IA.
