~Wedded at Newton ~
"Miss Pearl HOBLET and Albert DIAL were married at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. George HOLLINGSWORTH, in southwest Newton, Wednesday evening, Rev. COWEN officiating. About thirty of their most intimate friends witnessed the consummation of this love affair.
Miss HOBLET was born and raised in Newton, is a good girl and therefore there are quite a number who are interested in her welfare and happy in the thought that she has a husband who will add to her pleasure. She was remembered with many beautiful presents. They left Thursday for Perry, which place will be there future home. A large reception was given in honor of this worthy couple Thursday evening at the home of the groom's mother in Perry.~
Tuesday evening a reception, complimentary to the young couple, was tendered them at the house of Mr. and Mrs. V.S. DIAL, southeast of this city. The guests numbered about thirty, being relatives and a few intimate friends. An elaborate three course dinner was served. The table was beautifully decorated with similax, white carnations and bride roses. Many useful and valuable presents were given to the young couple, which shows the high esteem in which they are held. At a late hour the guests departed, wishing Mr. and Mrs. DIAL success and God speed as they launch out on the broad sea of life." --The Chief Reporter, April 27, 1899
