Eldon Boones Celebrated 50th Anniversary

The golden wedding anniversary of Eldon and Julia Boone was Oct. 26 with a full weedend of celebrating. It had been twenty years since all their children had gathered together and this feat was accomplished at a dinner party held at Elwell's Restaurant in Ankeny. Honoring their parents with their presence were Julie and Bill Burke of Davenport, Bill and Betty Boone of Omaha, Carol and Jack Long of Madrid, Eldon Boone, Jr. of Madrid, Merris and Fred McIntosh of Bondurant, Dan and Patti Boone of Madrid and Diane Boone of Bondurant.
On Sunday a reception was held at the Boone's home in Bondurant. Special guests for the day were 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. They traveled from Colorado, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, besides the state of Iowa, to renew family ties and meet cousins never seen before.
