COUNTY OF JEFFERSONIN THE PROBATE COURT OF SAID JEFFERSON COUNTY
IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE OF JAMES STARR, DECEASED
TO (IN) THE _____________________ THE PROBATE COURT IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF JEFFERSON AFORESAID.This Petitioner Elizabeth Starr of the County of Jefferson and territory of Colorado, represents that on the fifteenth day of February AD1875 James Starr, late of said Jefferson County died intestate at Central City in the county of Gilpin in said territory possessing personal estate in said Jefferson County but no property in said Gilpin County and no mansion or real estate in the territory of Colorado. That your petitioner is the widow of the said deceased. That the heirs at law of said deceased are Phoebe M. Kinney, daughter, residing in said Jefferson County. Sarah Ann Ward, daughter, residing at Jefferson County aforesaid. William Starr, son, residing at Waterloo, Blackhawk County, in the state of Iowa. Nancy (Chipman ?), daughter, residing at Nevada, Gilpin County, Colorado. Benjamin Starr, son, now of Grand County, in said territory. Mary E. Lynn, daughter, now of Central City Gilpin County Colorado and Rachel R. Loucy, now of Georgetown in the County of Clear Creek, and Emma D. (Trembath or Grumbath?) daughter, believed to be now of Nevada Gilpin County aforesaid and your petitioner. That the said heirs are all of lawful age. That more than thirty days have elapsed since the death of the said James Starr. That the personal estate of the said decedent in the said County of Jefferson and elsewhere in the territory of Colorado is of the value of about one thousand dollars consisting mostly of live stock and that decedent has an undivided one fourth interest in a lode or mining claim of 1400 feet known as the Silver King Lode situated in Montana district, Clear Creek County, and territory of Colorado. That your petitioner is not advised of the value of said interest in such Lode claim or whether the same has any value. Your petitioner further represents that it is necessary that an administrator should be appointed to take the case custody and disposition of said personal property and your petitioner desires the right to be appointed to such office and respectfully asks that Calvin Kinney of said Jefferson County be appointed as such administrator.
