My great-grandmother, Margaret Ellender Hart Shilling (1890-1988), was the daughter of Archibald D. and Catherine Jane (Maring) Hart. Catherine in turn was the daughter of Samuel Maring and his 1st wife, Alma Hall. Samuel of course was the son of Jacob and Eleanor Monroe Maring from Pennsylvania.
I have visited the graves of Samuel and a few others from the Maring family who are buried at Exline cemetery in Appanoose County, IA, once some years ago.
Archibald and Catherine Maring Hart are buried at Highland Cemetery in Eddyville, on the Mahaska County side. Two of their children are buried nearby---Samuel Hart and Nellie Hart. Their eldest child, Euphame "Phamey" Hart Miner (wife of Andrew Miner), was buried in the Catholic cemetery called St. Mary's Cemetery which is directly across from Highland Cemetery.
My great-grandmother is buried next to her husband and some of their children, and her little brother, John Hart (nickname of Johnny), is buried under the little sandstone which said "Infant of A. & C. J. Hart" near their graves. Their burials are at Pleasant Corners Cemetery in Monroe County, Iowa (about 2 miles or so outside Eddyville city limits).
Another Hart brother, Frank Hart, I believe, is now buried over in California. I think a sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Hart Chesser, is buried at Highland Cemetery and I was told another sister, Martha Hart Christy (or Christie), is buried in Illinois (probably Moline) while yet another sister, Jeannette Hart White--I do not know where she is buried yet. Also, there was one sister named Mary Hart who died either in her teens or early 20s. She is buried somewhere in Mahaska County.
