Mary,
My name is Charles Brannen. I am researching my family tree and there are a couple of people I have traced to Appanoose County, IA. One is William Henry Brannen, my great grandfather. There was a marriage license issued and recorded on either December 2nd or 5th, 1864 for a William H Brannen and Mary Ensley or Enslow. Mary was his first wife till sometime in the 1880's. I have them in Belmont County Ohio on the Federal census in both 1870 and 1880. Some of their children were supposed to have been born in Iowa according to family tradition. Iona, James and Mary Ann Brannen. I think they had moved back to Ohio before 1870 though. Also, William had an aunt, Mary Anne whom married a gentleman named John Criswell in 1848 Ohio. They were supoposed to have moved to Appanoose Co. Iowa in 1854. They had children named Robert (b.1853 in OH), Mary (b.1855 in IA), Caroline (b.1857 in IA), Cassandra (b.1860 in IA), Ida E.(b.1862 in IA), Eva (b.1865 in IA).
Anyone who might have any info on them would you please contact me.
Thanks
Charlie Brannen
