Edward Stinson and Alfred Stinson

I am looking for information about Alfred Stinson. His father Edward L. Stinson died in a threshing machine accident between 1859 and 1870 in Appanoose Co., IA. Edward’s sons were farmed out. Alfred Stinson went to live with John and Hannah Cunningham Stinson. How are John and Hannah related to Alfred? Thank you.
