Died, at her late residence in Fontanelle, Iowa, Saturday evening, July 25, 1896, at 7:15, Naomi, wife of Judge N. S. Taylor. Noami A. Stretor was born January 1, 1812, in Washington county, New York. She was married to N.S. Taylor, November 12th, 1829, in Essex county, New York. She was the mother of six children, five of whom are still living. In 1859 they became residents of Adair county, living most of the time in Fontanelle. Mother Taylor will be remembered by many of the early settlers as hostess of the stage station between Winterset and Lewis, in which capacity she endeared herself to the traveling public by her kind, motherly treatment of her guests. "Grandma" as she was called by every one who knew her, was one of those sweet, gentle natures who drew all to her and made warm and lasting friends. She was never known to say an unkind word of any one, and regulated her life by that broad minded christian charity that always saw the good in every human being. She ever strove to shield the weak and erring, being blind to their faults through kind love, which she bore for all her fellow creatures. For sixty-six years she was a companion to her loving husband and in her death was surrounded by all but one of her family and many tender and loving friends. The funeral services were held at the house, Monday morning and in spite of the bad roads many friends from a distance were present. Rev. Hall made a few appropriate remarks after which a long procession followed the remains to the cemetery. Two sons, a grandson and son-in-law layed her in her last resting place. The grave was beautifully decorated and all that was mortal of dear grandma was layed to rest amide the most beautiful flowers, the gifts of many loving friends.

Note: Naomi was originally buried in Fontanelle Cemetery. Naomi's remains were later exhumed and moved to Oakwood Cemetery in Casey, to rest beside the remains of her husband.
