CLAUDE O. BISHOP

Claude O. Bishop was born in Stanton, Iowa, Oct. 6, 1881 and passed away in Creston, Iowa, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mat Morris, Nov. 2, 1958.

He came to Orient as Station Agent in 1901, and remained in the same position until 1946 when he retired after 47 years of service with the Burlington Railroad.

On June 22, 1904 he was united in marriage to Jennie G. Graham and for fifty-four years they walked side by side sharing life’s joys and sorrows. He lived a faithful consistent Christian life, loved by his family, and his many friends.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, two sons, Myrle G. Bishop of Chicago, Ill., and S. Allison Bishop of Milwaukee, Wis.; two daughters, Charlotte B. Augustine of Indianola, Iowa, and Elizabeth B. Morris of Creston, Iowa; one brother, Ralph E. Bishop of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Vern Drew of Des Moines, Iowa; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

And so ends the earthly life of a good man but his memory will live on in the hearts of friends and dear ones.

“Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.”
