Death of Mrs. Woodson

At her home in Grove township Monday evening at 7:20 o'clock Mrs. B Woodson passed away after suffering for over three months from that dreaded disease cancer.

The deceased was born in Monroe County, Missouri, June 18, 1850 and married to B. Woodson in the year 1866. To this union were born nine children, two of whom preceded the mother to that better land. The others with the exception of the youngest daughter were present during her last illness.

She united with the Christian church and for eighteen years lived a conscientious christian life.

The funeral was held at the Grove Center church Rev. W. H. Keyser, pastor of the Christian church of Bridgewater having charge of the service. The remains were laid to rest in the Grove Center cemetery.

The family have the sympathy of a large number of sympathizing friends who mourn the loss of one who was always ready to lend a hand or give a word of cheer to the needy or discouraged. Chas. Shearer of Council Bluffs and Christian Shearer of Paris, Missouri, brothers of the deceased were present at the funeral.

Death of Mrs. Woodson

Mrs. B. Woodson died at her home in Grove township on Monday afternoon at 7:30 o'clock. She was aged 61 years. Mrs. Woodson was ill for about three months before her death, suffering from a complication of stomach and liver trouble.

Arzelia Shearer was born in Monroe county, Missouri in 1850. She was married to Mr. B Woodson at Stoutsville, Missouri in 1866. With her husband they moved to Cass County, Iowa about 35 years ago. From Cass County they moved to Adair County ten years ago where she resided until her death.

She was the mother of nine children, two of whom preceded her to the grave, seven are still living and six were present with her at the time of her death, one being absent on account of sickness. She was a member of the Christian church and lived a consistant christian life.

The funeral services were held at Grove center Church on Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Kiser of Bridgewater conducted the services after which the remains were laid to rest in the Grove Center Cemetery.
