CASEY VINDICATOR
October 1906DOUBLE WEDDING
One of the largest weddings that ever took place in this vicinity occurred at the home of
the bride's parents southwest of Casey last Wednesday at 3 P.M.. Rev. Stark of the German
Lutheran church officiating. The ceremony was performed in a large pavilion especially erected
for the occasion. The brides were attended by Misses Ida Eckardt and Carrie Mowery; the best men were
Fred Kellenberg and Robt. Kading. Miss Tena Mowery presiding at the organ. About three
hundred guests were in attendance and fully enjoyed the celebration of this double wedding. The brides were dressed in pearl gray silk; the grooms dressed in conventional black, the
two couples and their attendants made a beautiful sight as they stood to take the marriage vows. The presents were extensive, appropriate and made a pleasing sight to look at.
The contracting parties of this wedding were the Misses Rosa and Mary Kading,
Daughters of Albert Kading and wife; and Emil N. Eckardt, son of Gus Eckardt and wife, and
Gus J. Mowry, son of John Mowry and wife. All of these newly wedded people are popular, worthy and ambitious; they are well fitted
one for the other and start out in life with the highest prospects, and that they may indeed find
success and the happiness are the wishes of the Record. After the ceremony and congratulations were over the guests were seated to an elegant
banquet, and in the evening dancing was indulged in by the young folks. The brides and grooms will begin housekeeping on their respective farms where they will
soon be at home to their many friends.
